My experience as a Hong Kong international student has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life

Tyrone from Hong Kong is undertaking his secondary school education with @Townsville Grammar School in Townsville, residing on campus as a boarding student. Tyrone shares with us how his experience as a Student Ambassador with Study Townsville has helped develop valuable skills and connect with other international students in Townsville.

Living in a boarding school in Townsville as a Hong Kong international student has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. The transition was not without its challenges, but those challenges were part of what made the journey so worthwhile.

As a Student Ambassador with Study Townsville and a proud student of Townsville Grammar School, this experience has had a profound impact on my life. It’s not just about representing my school and helping other international students settle in—it’s about building bridges and creating meaningful connections with people from all walks of life, spanning different ages and backgrounds. Through this program, I’ve had the opportunity to meet locals, other international students, and share experiences that have enriched my time in Townsville. It’s amazing how being a part of Study Townsville has helped me develop leadership skills while also learning from the diverse perspectives of those around me.

Through the journey with Study Townsville, one of my favourite activities has been whale watching. Seeing these incredible creatures up close, surrounded by the natural beauty of Townsville, has been unforgettable. It’s a perfect way to connect with nature and others in the community. Finally, I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow and learn in this welcoming place, and I look forward to the memories yet to come.
