Getting Here

Townsville is located in North Queensland, approximately two-hours flight from Brisbane or a 45-minute flight south of Cairns. There are numerous connections to Townsville via most major Australian cities. 

The Townsville airport is centrally located in Townsville with a range of transport available to take you to your education facility or accommodation place. At the airport you will find the following transport options:

Taxi and Ride Share
  • A Taxi Rank is located at the arrivals end of the terminal.
  • The Ride Share collection point is located within the rental carpark at the arrivals end of the terminal.
Airport Shuttle
  • The Airport Shuttle provides a pick-up and drop off service from the airport to/from city hotels and the Magnetic Island Ferry Terminal seven days a week. To book visit shuttletsv.com.au 

There are also several rental car companies at the airport with a range of vehicles available for hire.

Many of the education facilities in Townsville will also personally meet students at the airport and provide transport to the education facility, which can be added support to the student when arriving.

Townsville offers easy access to an extraordinary range of natural wonders, including the Great Barrier Reef, World Heritage-listed Rainforest, the Whitsunday Islands, and the Australian Outback.

Getting Around

It is very easy to get around Townsville with a good quality road network as well as many bike paths and walking paths available.

Within Townsville a public bus service is provided by Translink offering a well connected network of bus routes across the city. Townsville Bus Network
