Study Townsville is offering the amazing and unique experience to all International Students studying in Townsville to apply to be a STAR (Study Townsville Ambassador Role)! Click Apply Now to submit an application.
The STAR Program provides students with the opportunity to participate in unique local experiences, be part of Townsville community-based activities, receive exclusive Study Townsville merchandise and develop key employability skills while they are undertaking their studies. The Study Townsville Ambassador Role provides students with the opportunity to improve personal and professional skills while contributing to the international marketing of Townsville as an education destination.
The STAR experience will include:
Exclusive STAR Student Pack
Opportunity to attend local events and experiences (expense of attending will be covered by Study Townsville, limited opportunities through the year)
Attendance at a professional Social Media Best Practice and Blog Writing workshop
Representing the international student community of Townsville
Exposure to new situations that build work ready skills, strengthen interpersonal communication, time management and team building
Improving professional communication and social media skills
Being part of a team that plans and delivers events for international students
Being part of Townsville’s welcoming program and activities for international students
Developing professional networks and contacts
Building friendships with other international students studying in Townsville
What it takes to be a STAR:
Be passionate about Townsville and be able to express a positive view of your educational experience
A desire to learn more about and engage with, the Townsville community
Willingness to contribute to the development of Townsville as an international student destination
Have a confident and positive personality
Want to share stories of your experiences in Townsville via social media and website
Aspire for self-improvement
Your commitment as a STAR:
Share your experience through photos and text as an international student in Townsville
Provide photos and comments about experiences and/or events you attend in the Townsville and surrounding region to be uploaded to the Study Townsville online platforms, this can also include lifestyle and study experiences you have in Townsville
You will provide to Study Townsville 1-2 content pieces per month (content piece to include 2-4 photos and comments/text) for use on the Study Townsville social media platforms
You will provide 1 website blog piece every 2 months for the Study Townsville website (300-800 words plus 1-2 photos)
We ask you tag Study Townsville in your own Facebook and Instagram posts about your experience in Townsville as an International Student
The STAR Program is a volunteer role
